Lederer and Ferguson To Have Assets Seized

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

Things are about to get a whole lot worse for the big names at the top of Full Tilt Poker. Earlier this week, the U.S. Department of Justice’s indictment was amended to include Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, and Rafe Furst. Many had wondered when or if the two most high profile founders of Full Tilt would find themselves culpable. With the added accusations that Full Tilt operated like a Ponzi scheme, it seems their deal or no deal online time has come.

All three – along with Full Tilt CEO, Ray Bitar – have had a warrant in rem issued by the DoJ for the seizure of their personal bank accounts. ‘In rem’ means warrants issued against property, rather than for arrest. At this point, it’s looking unlikely that even reparations on the scale paid by the Party Poker Download will see Full Tilt operating in the U.S. again any time soon.

The DoJ are trying to recover some of the $444 million reportedly paid to the owners of Tiltware LLC during the period between April 2007 and April 1 2011. Among that amount, the U.S. government claims to have unearthed exactly how much was paid to Lederer,…

Canadians Launch Full Tilt Law Suit

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Before things get better for Full Tilt Poker, it looks like they’re going to get a whole lot worse. On top of having their funds seized by the DoJ and their gambling license rescinded by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC), a series of lawsuits from disgruntled players have begun to pile up. The latest suit has emerged from Canada, where Consumer Law Group Inc. lawyer Jeff Arenstein claims that players are owed between $5 – $10 million.

Ever since online casino gambling regulators, the AGCC, forced Full Tilt to close their doors, nobody has been able to access their accounts. This includes thousands of Canadians, who are estimated to make up about 10% of Full Tilt’s player base. In an attempt to win back money that belongs to those players, lead plaintiff Mitchel Schnurbach has taken to the courts.

Anecdotal reports claim that there are Canadian account holders with at least $250,000 trapped online, although the average amount is much lower. Schnurbach himself has no more than $5 left in his Full Tilt account, but is hoping to win his case on behalf his fellow Canadian players.

The law suit was launched in Montreal, at the Quebec Superior…

Two Year Renewal with Kahnawake for Full Tilt

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

If you are a fan of online poker rooms, you are likely in tune with the ongoing saga of Full Tilt Poker and their licensing issues. Recently the Kahnawake Gaming Commission gave the site a renewal of their Secondary Client Provider Authorization for a term of two years.

It has come as a surprise to many people to learn that Kahnawake provides Full Tilt with any sort of license in the first place. Kahnawake also provides licensing for UB and AP, two sites that are infamous for scandals. Cereus once hosted some of the best Mac poker sites available, but they were hit hard by the loss of American business since Black Friday. This is, of course, the same problem that Full Tilt has had.

Despite the fact that Full Tilt was able to renew their secondary license, their primary license from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) is still suspended and pending an upcoming hearing. While the hearing between the AGCC and Full Tilt will hopefully take place as soon as possible, chances are they will not meet until September 15th.

Full Tilt’s primary license is still valid despite the fact it is suspended, which…

Kahnawake Renew Full Tilt’s Secondary License

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

With a cloud of black doom hanging over Full TIlt, there is at least a small ray of hope for the cash-strapped online poker site. And perhaps their customers, who are still waiting impatiently for refunds on their frozen accounts. Players worldwide are stuck midway through their poker bonuses, hoping for a positive outcome.

The Kahnawake gaming Commission have seen fit to renew Full Tilt’s Secondary Client Provider Authorization (CPA) license. The KGC is based in Mohawk territory, within Canada. They play host to a number of internet slots and gambling sites, including the unpopular Absolute Poker and UB brands.

Full Tilt’s company’s Primary CPA is currently suspended by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. A hearing was called in London to discuss the suspension, but Full Tilt successfully argued for an adjournment in order to secure investment. A replacement hearing will be convened no later than September 15.

According to KGC regulations, any company whose primary license is suspended must apply for a Primary CPA in Kahnawake.

“In the event the license from the primary jurisdiction is suspended, revoked or allowed to lapse, the holder of a Secondary Client Provider Authorization must, within thirty (30) days, apply…

Full Tilt Poker’s Hearing Rescheduled

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

April 15th is known to online poker players as Black Friday because everyone in the USA lost their ability to play on the three major poker sites. It wasn’t long before PokerStars allowed their American players to access their real money accounts, however. They could no longer earn PokerStars rakeback, but at least their money could be withdrawn.

Unfortunately, the outcome with Full Tilt Poker was quite the opposite. American funds have been locked up in cyberspace since Black Friday. And now even players outside of America have their funds locked up in Full Tilt.

The Alderney Gaming Control Commission (AGCC) decided to suspend Full Tilt Poker’s license on April 29th. Once one of the best Mac poker sites available, Full Tilt was no longer available to anyone. Part of the reason they lost their license was that they had not paid American players back yet.

Players were forced to look ahead to June 26th in hopes that they would get some information from the hearing between Full Tilt Poker and the AGCC. For weeks there were rumors bubbling of investors vying for Full Tilt Poker which would alleviate their cash flow issues. Therefore their standing with the…

PokerStars has sponsored a huge number of poker series all around the world, and there is no doubt that the Full Tilt Poker download has been hunting down a chance to host a live series of their own. The site has finally done just that with the announcement of the Onyx Cup Series. If you love live poker, you have good reason to be excited about this new series!

You will need a big bankroll since they start at $100,000 buy-ins, and they give points for the Onyx Cup Series Leaderboard. You must earn Leaderboard points in the first five events of the series to make it into the $250k Grand Finale tourney at the end of the series.

Tournaments in the Onyx Cup Series feature eight-handed tables and a “shot clock”. The best US poker sites require their players to act within a certain amount of time, and this is what the shot clock does in the Onyx Cup Series. Players must act within 30 seconds once it…

Win $1.5 Million on Full Tilt Poker – Part 2

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Last entry we talked about “Challenge durrr”, an exciting opportunity available to those that download Full Tilt Poker. Challenge 1 takes place at cash tables, Challenge 2 features tournaments, and Challenge 3 features the Matrix.

With the Matrix, you play four simultaneous Sit & Gos versus the same players. For Challenge 3, you will be competing with the 8 others that made it past Challenge 2. The player that earns the highest Matrix score will move on to Challenge 4, the final challenge.

Matrix tournaments are another unique invention by the Full Tilt Poker download. You earn Matrix points for outlasting opponents and for knocking opponents out. Full Tilt is adding $25k to this event so that even if you don’t accumulate the highest Matrix score, you could still walk away with some cash.

The lucky winner of the Matrix tournament will be offered the chance to play either Texas Holdem or Omaha for up to $1.5 million in prize money. The challenger will play against Tom Dwan in the match of a lifetime: four heads-up Sit& Gos, all at the same time. Winning one of the matches gives the challenger a profit of $10,000. Winning two…

Win $1.5 Million on Full Tilt Poker

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

If you decide to download Full Tilt Poker this month, you could win an exclusive competition against Tom Dwan, known as durrr to online poker enthusiasts. If you can overcome the odds and clear 3 preliminary challenges, you receive the right to play Dwan in four heads-up Sit & Gos for up to $1.5 million in cash!

Challenge 1 tests your skill in ring games. You can choose NL Holdem or PL Omaha, and your goal is to get ranked on the durrr Leaderboards. You are ranked on the Low, Medium, or High Leaderboard depending on the stakes you play, and a group of people from each will get to attempt Challenge 2.

Your place on the Leaderboard depends on the number of “Leaderboard chips” you can earn at the cash tables. Leaderboard chips are only given when you play Rush tables or when you two-table regular tables, and then you have to win pots after the flop. You can play as much as you want, but your Leaderboard chips are calculated for every 500 hands you play. You’ll rank highest on the durrr Leaderboard by earning more chips in a given 500 hand sample than anyone else.…

Try MiniFTOPS XIX on Full Tilt Poker

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

Low stakes tournament players waited patiently for FTOPS XIX to finish and now their time to shine has come. The 19th version of MiniFTOPS starts in just over a week, hosting all the tourneys from this past FTOPS but at stakes much smaller. If you are a beginner, now is a great time to use a Full Tilt Poker referral code and play one of 45 events with huge prize pools.

As usual, there are a couple changes with this version of MiniFTOPS. Full Tilt’s exclusive multi-entry events make it possible to offer larger prize pools in a number of events. The Main Event is a prime example of this as it features a $75 buy-in and an impressive guaranteed prize pool of $1.25 million! If you are into multi-tabling, you will be happy to know that you can enter this event up to six times. Due to multi-entries, this MTT is very likely to surpass its guarantee by quite a bit.

Making its MiniFTOPS debut is the 2-day NLHE Heads Up tourney on the 12th of March. Boasting a prize pool of $100k, the $1,000+$60 buy-in is the series’ highest and will not be the first choice for…
