Martin Finger Wins EPT Prague 2011

Poker’s popularity continues to grow in the Czech Republic on the heels of Martin Staszko’s second place finish in the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event. 571 players made the trip out for WPT Prague, forced to leave their cake poker download to chase the dream of a WPT title.

EPT Prague followed WPT Prague just a short time after, and it attracted a record breaking field. 722 players paid the €5,300 buy-in, creating a prize pool of €3,501,700. This created a giant first place payout of €720,000.

Many talented players fell short of the final table, including Chris Moorman who finished in 15th for €23,000. Moorman has long been a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the best Euro poker sites. Recently he added finishing 2nd in the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event for €800,000 to his resume.

Nicholas Levi began the final table just shy of the chip lead. However he suffered a crippling blow after getting in the majority of his chips with bottom two pair against David Boyaciyan’s top set. No miracle came for Levi and Boyaciyan vaulted into the top of the chip…
