PokerStars WCP in the Bahamas

The PokerStars download offers a huge number of ways to qualify for 2011’s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, but arguably the most exciting promotion is the World Cup of Poker. 56 different national teams will have the goal of making it to the live final. The live final takes place in the Bahamas in January 2011 where nine teams will play for a total prize pool of $256k.

The best online player of the country as well as a PokerStars pro and three satellite qualifiers will make up each national team. To qualify as your country’s best player, you must be the highest ranked player of your country on the 2010 PokerStars tournament leaderboard. The 3 additional qualifiers will need to play satellites. If you have a very small bankroll, do not worry. There are freeroll qualifiers, FPP qualifiers, and the cash satellites are just $1. Jonathan Duhamel Wins $8.9 Million in the WSOP Main Event

While a large percentage of the 2010 November Nine wore Full Tilt patches, PokerStars still managed to take it down. Kudos to Jonathan Duhamel for winning the largest prize in poker by outlasting an incredibly difficult field. In fact, the November Nine was filled with pros that have made a killing in the online games.

Duhamel is the first Canadian to ever win the World Series of Poker Main Event. The 23 year old quit school in order to go pro on money poker sites after a significant amount of success in the online games.
